Wharfedale vs KRK RP8

Postby Tonz on Fri Oct 26, 2007 10:13 am

Just fried one of my Behringer 2031a's.. Fuse probably, the power light is working but no sound!!!! uuuuuuuuugh.. Would getting a pair of Wharfedale 8.2 actives be an upgrade??.. I have about $500 but wouldnt mind spending less.. Lookin at the KRK RP8 ..I have no way of listening to the wharfee's.. But, I have read several posts and reviews on em. Most people say they translate well.. Thats what I'm looking for. I make R&B/Hip Hop.. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated..

upgrade probably not? It would probably be a better monitor but really the only thing I'd really think might be an upgrade up from that price point is hte Yamaha HS80M (700$), to get a worth while you need to be looking in a 1000$ range. If its just a fuse 1$ would fix t;

finally made a trip to GC.. tested the RP5.RP8,VXt4,VXT6 with a commercial CD that I know very well. Musiq Soulchild.

The RP8 ddint sound that much different than my Behringer 2031A..

but the VXT6 sounded really really good..

is that bad??????

I can't find any reviews on em.. Is that due to the 499.00 each price tag?

I can get a brand new set of VXT6 for $550.00 out the door.

I fixed my Behringer 20301A.. (blown fuse) .. thanks nanashiwanderer

VXT are replacement for the V-Series. If they're as good, there a good step up not quite the Dyna-Audio BM5A and ADAM A7 league of monitors (1000.00), the V Series is KRKs upper end line to compete with the upper midrange category of active monitors.
