and what is SDC ?

sorry, small diaphragm condensor.

and in response to the smartass part of your question, i would hope that somebody with as many posts here as you have wouldn't have to. 8)

maybe a well placed smiley would make your posts seem more lighthearted.

Problem is that often when one knows a lot, "SDC" can mean many different things and to try and guess what was intended seemed pointless. Sorry if that came out wrong. Just wanted to get your question clarified so someone who has the answer can answer it.

see, the condescending attitude is what was bugging me in the first place. i apparently do not know enough to give you a link to the search results for SDC. so i will have to make do by:

asking you to do it yourself, and [insert rude comment here].

ps. i was wrong, your well-placed-smiley didn't work.

There's the NAIANT mic at $19 apiece. But it's NOT an SDC. It's an electret condenser microphone.

Theres' the Behringer C2 matched pair for $50 a pair. This one is a real SDC.

that may have been it... that was the same body style, it almost looked like an xlr jack on the end of a mic cord. but the site i want just had a list of like 5-7 mics w/ pics next to them, and the ones i'm thinking of were sold out at the time. thanks for the help, but i think i'm still looking!

it was befinitely NOT behringer.

anybody else?

http://www.karmaaudio.com/micro.html

http://www.naiant.com/studiostore/msh1series.html

neither are small diaphram condensers, but I think these are what you're looking for... I just ordered a pair of the Niant MSH-1 & they should be here any day now... there are a lot of sound clips on the Niant site & these mics should sound schweet

These Panasonic electret mics are $.86 apiece at digikey.com. 20Hz to 20Khz response. It just needs one resistor and cap to properly bias it for operation. Add a few more dollars for the XLR connector and you have a mic.

Even at $20 apiece, it's way overpriced for what it does.

Here's a cheaper $10 stereo mic kit, also using electret mic capsules.

The sound of these electret is not so bad. In fact, it's pretty surprising good considering it's price.

thanks for your concern. i am actually NOT in the market for any mics at all, i had just been thinking about that link to those tiny mics i had seen and couldn't find my way back to it!

my doctor says it's OCD. so does everybody else i know. and their friends.

but i don't believe them.
