M-Audio Solaris vs. Rode NT1000

Postby art2infinity on Wed Aug 30, 2006 6:50 pm

I need a single condenser mic that will let me record mainly acoustic and electric guitar and vocals, and piano. I think I've narrowed it down to these two. Any help is needed and appreciated. If you know of any other mic in the price range you consider superior, let me know. thanks.

From what i've heard, the Rode is much more transparent, if it's going to be your main mic i'd be tempted to go with the rode.

I've used both -

I kept the Solaris pair. I use them where I used to use the 414's (which only come out now when I'm already using the pair of Solaris mics).

I don't think you'll regret it. Very flexible. Very smooth. Open and clear without that annoying presence peak in so many others.
