Computerized guitar sound

Postby UltraFace on Mon Jul 11, 2005 1:47 am

Whats the best way to get the really computerzied lo-fi guitar sound? Ive been playing guitar for like 5 years, but am a minimalist towards effects, and have barely started computer production.

I tried using an 8-bit sound emulator BJlofi, but it just seemed to increase the noise.

For a good reference to the sound im looking for check out Ratatat specifically the song "Seventeen Years"

You can get that sound with many a stomp-box. Either sound, the super-fuzz bass or the shrill guitars. Maybe some chorus and/or delay on there for good measure, specifically on the guitar.
