Studio Racks "Ikea Hack" Pics inside

I purchased this IKEA stand for $20 off of craigslist. They go for about $80 brand new. The model is called Benno

Used the back pieces as dividers then secured with L brackets

Install rack rails. This unit is tall enough for 8 spaces

I also made this one with some excess wood I had laying around from my desk project.

I also made a dolly for my Reel 2 Reel machine so that is was not on the floor.

Just added casters to some left over wood

Hey, that looks very nice - good stuff.

They also do a bedside table called EINA iirc - I used to use them as cheap racks, but they don't look as nice as yours (you have to screw into the wood - they're not quite wide enough for rack rails).

(Ooh - and I'm totally digging the SSL AlphaLink...That's next on my hitlist :) )

Man, that turned out great. The center storage area is icing on the cake. Great place for patch cables.

Great work! But isn't uncomfortable to use that pedal way up there? :)

Friggin' cool...

Side note - Don't know if it's just the camera, but it looks like it's sagging in the middle a bit. Perhaps a bit of --- What's it called - "U-Rail?" I would think that a piece bolted to the bottom would stop and sagging (or potential sagging in the future if it's not already) under that load...

Either way, that's very sharp...

I think it is just the angle of how the picture was shot. But the monitor riser on my desk was sagging b/c of the heavy load. I just layered another piece of wood to get it a little thicker (1.5). Kinda of lookf wierd but it works..

I will look into the U-Rail thing..

Thanks.

Good one...
Do you move it around a lot? - Otherwise, you could just nail a piece of wood or whatever to the bottom center of the rack...
A great idea though...
