ADAT XT 20 Help

Here's the place to talk about digital multi-track recorders like the Yamaha AW series, Roland VS series, Akai DPS24, Alesis, Korg and Tascam machines. Lets add ANALOG tape machines too like Teac, Nagra, Akai, even Dokorder reel-to-reels, portastudios, old cassette 4 tracks, and anything that layers tracks. Historians and pros from the Golden Age are welcome.

This happens in the Chain or Stand alone,
Any ideas where to start?

No error code showing up? If not, then it could be as simple as a broken belt...

More than likely though, it will need servicing - other than the usual maintenance, very little about those units are user-serviceable.
Just in case you didn't notice, this place is sadly dying due to spam overuns and lack of Admin upkeep.

You may have to reset the deck. To re-initialize the XT20, hold down both RECORD and PLAY while turning on the POWER switch. This will reset all parameters to their default settings.

Give it a shot and let us know if the fault is cleared.

Sitting four years in what environment? Now that's a question you need to ask. Maybe it's time to clean out all the cobwebs and go over the whole thing switch by switch. Dirt gets in everywhere.
