Letter from a Dungeon

play hi-fi

A medieval princess is locked in a dungeon by her lover. This is a pre-master of the latest from Winnie and Rich recorded in August and September of 2002.

Story Behind the Song
This is the 1st song done with my new Eurodesk MX9000 board--who says an analog mix can't be clean? Logic Audio 5.3 was used with the drums comming from a proteus 2000. Custom, samples from the TweakHeadz collection. Winnie did the vocals in takes over 2 sessions, using a Cad e200 mic through and Alesis 3630 compressor, sweetened with emagic's exciter and Waves ren-verb. She did a great performance.

Lyrics
Letter from a dungeon
Intro-----

I'm dreaming amid the broken stars
Waiting for the voice from above.

Forgetting about these chains

The screams and all the pains

I write this letter to you

From the tower in the castle

on the Heartbreak ridge

Verse one------

Through the darkened maze
I run

My soul looks for the door

To you're sun*0

Will you answer?
I don't know

listening to the sound
Of a clock ticking slow

I made a peace
with the morning

But still turn on my mind
at night

So I can see you in the shadow land

From the dimness of my upstairs tower light

chorus 1----

This message, my love, is dire

Desire seeks the fire
The fire
Desire
The Fire
Desire
On Fire

Verse 2------

So many things
This castle knows

In it's empty rooms and halls

I'm looking
through a spyglass

Through peep holes
in the walls

The nights I crave
from memory

Were burned right into these walls

When we talked into the midnight hour

Time just froze it all

Chorus 2
This message, my love, is dire

Desire seeks the fire
The fire
Desire
The Fire
Desire
On Fire
Break ---------------

We kissed in this tower
With magic in our eyes
Felt each other's greatness
As it reached into the sky
this castle knows its splendor
This Castle knows it all
That night we lit the sky on fire
I'm blinded
with love

Verse 3

You took off in the morning

While the clock was running fast

I saw you to the door
Then I fell down to the floor
Then I got stuck in the Past

I'm dreaming
amid the broken love.

Waiting for your voice
from above.

You had the key before.

Now open the old creaky door

Chorus 3----
This message, my love, is dire

Desire seeks desire
This message, my love, is dire

Desire seeks desire

Even in this dungeon.
